I got one of my most important internships through networking. In 2020, it was pivotal to my career to land my final (and best paid) internship in project management at a large tech company. Through one of the toughest job markets during the past decade (the pandemic!) I learned the true power of professional relationships, leading to collaborations and referrals, setting me apart in a competitive job market.
Follow up with a message, like “Hi [Name], it was great meeting you at [Event]! I enjoyed our conversation about [Topic]. Let’s connect and keep the dialogue going. Looking forward to staying in touch!”
