Let’s talk about burnout during the job search 👩🏻💻😩📝
It feels like we're in constant stages of burnout... even when we're NOT working? No one ever talks about the pressure to be productive when unemployed, like that's ironically not maybe the best time to just relax and slow down? You feel pressure to work on your hobbies, your fitness, constantly applying to new jobs, networking, basically doing everything you "don't have time for" when you're working.
I get it TOTALLY SUCKS to always be "on", even when you're taking MUCH DESERVED rest. Remember, you don't have to EARN rest! Rest is NOT wasted time!

Job search burnout is a common issue that many face, especially during challenging economic times. The pressure to constantly apply for jobs and network can lead to a significant mental drain. To combat this, it's essential to treat your job search like a job itself. Set a schedule and allocate specific times for job applications, networking, and skill development. Track your applications, set deadlines for follow-ups, and celebrate small victories along the way. Additionally, remember that rest is crucial. It’s important to take breaks and recharge your mental batteries—this rest will ultimately lead to better focus and productivity when you do return to your job search. Consider engaging in activities that bring you joy and relaxation, as they can provide a much-needed mental escape from the job search grind. And always keep in mind that the job market is often tough, and maintaining a resilient mindset can make all the difference. Lastly, seek emotional support from friends and family when you feel overwhelmed, as their encouragement can strengthen your resolve.
