4 rules we have in our marriage that works for us
Hi friends 🍋
When you get married, things change. You become ONE in EVERY way.
We’ve made a lot of mistakes along the way, but we’ve both learned and grown from them.
Here are 4 rules we follow in our marriage that have never failed us.
1- Share Locations: We always know each other’s whereabouts for safety and emergency reasons. This practice eliminates any doubt about each other’s location and enhances our sense of security and trust.
2- WE DON’T MAKE ANY FINANCIAL DECISIONS WITHOUT EACH OTHER: We combined our incomes right after we got married. There is no “my money” or “your money.” Remember, we become ONE in ALL ways. With this in mind, we make mutual decisions about how we allocate and spend our money.
3- WE NEVER GO TO SLEEP ANGRY: No matter how hard it is, or how angry we are with each other, we only sleep when we are in peace and sleep without anger.
4-NEVER KEEP SECRETS: Trust me, we had our share of secrets early in our marriage, and they only caused pain. When we finally laid everything on the table and forgave each other, we started to rebuild trust, and our bond became even stronger.
We are a team. We do our best to make each other feel safe and secure in our marriage, and these rules help us achieve that.

In any marriage, clear communication and trust are vital for a lasting relationship. Many couples struggle with secrets and misunderstandings; however, establishing transparency can significantly improve the dynamics of your partnership. Sharing each other's locations not only ensures safety but also builds confidence and reassurance in a relationship. It’s also fundamental not to make financial decisions in isolation. By collaborating on budgeting and spending, couples can avoid potential conflicts over money – often a major source of marital strife. By pooling resources, there’s a shared sense of responsibility and commitment, resulting in a more united front against outside pressures. Going to bed with unresolved issues is another hurdle couples face. It’s crucial to address disputes promptly, enabling both partners to sleep peacefully and emotionally refreshed. Wake up feeling more united, and tackle issues with a clear mindset. Lastly, maintaining strict honesty about feelings and past experiences creates solid bonds in your marriage. Secrets often lead to distrust, whereas open conversations foster a supportive environment that can withstand life's challenges. Couples who embrace these principles generally see progress and mutual respect flourish, leading to a more fulfilling partnership.
