I want a brand collab!

2025/11/30 Edited to

... Read moreIt's been a journey, and like many of you, I started with that dream: 'I want a brand collab!' I mentioned being on 'Day 4' of reaching out, and honestly, it takes dedication. But what I've learned is that it's not just about messaging; it's about crafting a compelling proposal that stands out. If you're wondering how to get brands to notice you, let me share my personal approach, which has really helped my pitches get seen. First, understand what brands are looking for. They want value! They want to know you can genuinely connect with their audience. For me, highlighting that 'my cross-platform content performs well' is a key selling point. It shows them I have an engaged audience across different platforms, not just one. Here’s my go-to structure for a brand collaboration proposal email, framed from my own experiences: Subject Line is Key! I always aim for something catchy yet professional. Instead of just "Collab Request," try: "Collaboration Idea: [Your Name/Niche] x [Brand Name] - [Brief Hook, e.g., 'Showcasing Your Latest Suitcase Set']". This immediately tells them who you are, what brand you're interested in, and a hint of your idea. Personalized Introduction (Why Them?) Start by showing you've done your homework. Mention a specific product you love, or how their brand aligns with your content. For example, if I'm pitching a travel brand, I might say, "I've been a huge fan of your [specific suitcase set or travel accessory] for my adventures, and I truly admire your commitment to [brand value]." This shows authenticity. Who Am I & What Value Do I Bring? Briefly introduce yourself and your niche. Explain why you're a good fit. This is where I'd mention my audience demographics (if relevant), and again, emphasize that 'my cross-platform content performs well.' Provide a quick statistic or two if you have them – like average engagement rate or follower count. Don't just ask for free stuff; explain how you can help *them*. The Collaboration Idea (Make it Specific!) This is the core. Don't be vague. Instead of "I want to promote your products," suggest a concrete idea. For instance, "I envision creating a series of engaging reels and TikToks showcasing your new 'suitcase set' during my upcoming trip to [destination], highlighting its durability and style, perfect for fellow travelers." Be creative! Think about how your content style can genuinely highlight their product. Call to Action (What Next?) Make it easy for them to respond. "I've attached my media kit for your review, and I'd love to schedule a brief call to discuss this further. Are you available for a quick chat next week?" Always include a clear next step. Closing & Contact Info End professionally. I always make sure 'my email's in my bio' is clearly visible on my profile, but in the email, I'll include my direct contact information for easy access. Additional Tips from My Own Journey: Research, Research, Research: Know the brand's aesthetic, their recent campaigns, and who they've worked with before. Quality Over Quantity: It's better to send fewer, highly personalized pitches than many generic ones. Follow Up (Politely!): If you don't hear back in a week or so, a gentle follow-up email is perfectly acceptable. Show, Don't Just Tell: If you have examples of similar content you've created, link to them! This process has been a game-changer for me. It's not just about wishing for collabs, but proactively showing brands the amazing value you can bring. Good luck on your own brand collab journey!
