On my TBR…

The classics! ✨

Some of these I’ve read, albeit not since childhood, & some I haven’t! I’ve thrifted all of them, with the exception of The Handmaid’s Tale, but that’s only because @cryingcatbooks was fresh out of secondhand copies! (Thankfully, they had one new copy left! 🙌🏻)

Last year I purchased box sets of both Anne of Green Gables & Little House on the Prairie & I’ve dreamed of reading them aloud to my daughters ever since, so I think we’re going to tackle that this summer! ☀️

Have you read any of these books or are any of them on your TBR? 👀

... Read moreAs I dive into my TBR list of classics, I can't help but reflect on the charm of these timeless stories. Nostalgic books like 'Little House on the Prairie' and 'The Secret Garden' hold a special place in our hearts. Not only do they offer escapism, but they also provide lessons in values like friendship, perseverance, and the beauty of nature. Reading these treasured titles aloud to my daughters has been a dream, and I believe it's a wonderful way to instill a love for literature in the next generation. Classic literature is often characterized by its enduring themes and universally relatable characters. Titles such as 'Anne of Green Gables' by L.M. Montgomery and 'The Handmaid's Tale' by Margaret Atwood explore complex emotions and societal issues that resonate with readers of all ages. They challenge us to think critically about our world while offering a window into different times and cultures. Moreover, the act of sharing stories can strengthen familial bonds, fostering a sense of belonging and shared experiences. As we embark on our reading journey this summer, I'm excited to explore the emotions and adventures held within these pages. Have you read any classics recently, or do you have favorites that remain close to your heart? Let's celebrate the joy of reading together!
