31 Days of Prayer: Day 18
Ever since my slump, I’ve been recuperating from having to dial back and take a moment for myself every day since that day. It’s a constant battle and a reminder that it’s a choice to be closer to God, to want a relationship with him, and to enjoy more overall for myself. And I can’t do that by being OK on the days I skip out on the conversations with him. I’m exhausted today; it’s also very cold, which makes me even more tired. But I still managed to grab my phone and look up scripture to inspire myself to become better. Philippians 2:3-4 states, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility, value others above yourselves, not looking to your interests but each of you to the interests of the others." This verse encourages us to practice humility and to care for others.
