My Weightloss Journey
When you make the decision to change your life for the better. From having a lot of health problems to being taken off blood pressure medication. You have so much more energy than you did a year ago. I'm not where I want to be at goal wise, but this has been one hell of a journey. Was it easy? No it wasn't but would I do it again? Absolutely! 12/2/25 made my 1 year anniversary of having the gastric sleeve. I'm beyond excited. Looking back from where I first was up until now I've lost a whole person. Started out my heaviest at 420. My pre op weight of 413. My surgery weight was 406. I'm currently 311 lbs. Overall I'm down 102 lbs in a year. This is an amazing feeling and its just the beginning of My Journey 💪🏾💯❤️ My story is still being written!
Embarking on a weight loss journey, especially after gastric sleeve surgery, is both a challenging and rewarding experience. Many people who decide to undergo this procedure do so to improve their health, boost their energy levels, and regain confidence in their bodies. Losing over 100 pounds in a year, as shared in this journey, is a testament to the commitment and perseverance required for lasting change. One of the most significant benefits of successful weight loss after gastric sleeve surgery is the potential reduction or complete discontinuation of medications, such as blood pressure drugs, leading to a healthier lifestyle. This often enhances overall well-being and energy, making daily activities easier and more enjoyable. It's important to note that while surgery provides a tool for weight loss, achieving long-term success depends on adopting new habits related to diet, exercise, and mental health. The journey may not always be easy, with ups and downs that test motivation and resolve. However, as experienced here, the rewards—improved health markers, increased vitality, and self-confidence—make every effort worthwhile. For those considering gastric sleeve surgery or currently on their weight loss path, connecting with support groups and health professionals can provide vital encouragement and guidance. Tracking progress through milestones, such as one-year anniversaries, allows reflection on achievements and helps set future goals. Remember, each person's weight loss journey is unique, and patience is key. Celebrate small victories, stay focused on long-term objectives, and maintain a positive mindset. This inspiring story of a 102-pound loss over a year serves as motivation that with dedication and resilience, meaningful transformation is possible and the journey is truly just beginning.
