Oh my gosh, I was just thinking about JaNa and Kenny enjoying their beautiful meal in Cannes, and it got me reminiscing about my own incredible trip there! Even if high fashion isn't your main goal, it's such an experience to window shop and soak in the opulence. I remember seeing a handbag that was just a dream... maybe one day! But Cannes isn't just for luxury. I quickly discovered the vibrant Rue d'Antibes, which runs parallel to the Croisette. This is where you'll find a fantastic mix of high-street fashion, charming independent boutiques, and more accessible brands. It’s perfect for finding stylish outfits, unique accessories, or even just picking up some great basics for your vacation wardrobe. I found the cutest little sundress there that became my go-to for evening strolls! The energy on Rue d'Antibes is so different – bustling and full of life, with cafes tucked in between the shops where you can grab a quick espresso. And if you're like me and love a good souvenir that feels truly authentic, don't miss exploring the charming, winding streets of Le Suquet, Cannes' old town. While it's more known for its history and amazing restaurants with panoramic views, you can still stumble upon quaint little artisan shops selling local crafts, Provençal fabrics, and unique gifts. I picked up some beautiful lavender soap and a hand-painted ceramic dish that instantly transports me back to the South of France every time I see it. For a true taste of local life (and some edible souvenirs!), the Marché Forville is an absolute must-visit. This covered market, just a short walk from the port, is a feast for the senses. While it’s primarily a fresh food market – think vibrant fruits, vegetables, cheeses, and seafood – you’ll also find stalls selling local products like olive oils, tapenades, and spices. It's the perfect place to grab ingredients for a picnic or pick up some gourmet treats to take home. I got some incredible local honey that I’m still savoring! A few tips for shopping in Cannes: Best Time: Mornings are generally quieter, but the afternoons have a lovely buzz. Many shops close for a lunch break between 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM, especially away from the main tourist strips, so plan accordingly. Sales: Look out for the official summer (July-August) and winter (January-February) sales for some serious bargains on designer items! Tax-Free Shopping: If you're from outside the EU, remember to ask for tax-free forms at participating stores for a refund on your purchases. It can really add up! Whether you're after high-end fashion, unique local finds, or delicious gourmet treats, Cannes truly has something for every kind of shopper.
