TLDR: IMO worth it, if you don’t mind the neck pain and skewed view, but I would pay more for a better seat next time.
Good:
+ Music and Singing is just as good
+ Perspective for the choreography is not bad too, can see all the dancers at once and it was really impressive how well coordinated the dancers were.
+ shorter queue for toilet during intermission (exited through door 17)
Bad
- Can’t see the facial expression of the actors and this makes the play less enjoyable (This is expected since we are seated so far away)
- since the seat is not levelled with the stage, the view for the top the stage is slightly obstructed when there are frames in the stage design. This makes the visuals less impressive than intended. (Stage is also designed to look best levelled so this is expected as well)
- the costumes and stage backdrop look so good from afar I wish I could see the details from a closer seat
- some of the lighting effects were quite intrusive (not sure if it’s the same for other seats but the fake lightning flashes blinded me for a few seconds)
- neck is slightly strained from looking downwards for 2 hours
The musical itself was lovely and I enjoyed it very much despite the not so good seat.
I think Belle killed it, her emotions were on point and her enunciation is super clear! Mrs Potts sounds exactly like the Disney version and all the singing and dancing were so impressive.
... Read moreFrom my experience sitting in the Grand Circle area, the view offers a unique perspective that lets you appreciate the entire ensemble of dancers and stage coordination all at once. However, as the seats are quite far from the stage and not level with it, the facial expressions and intricate costume details are hard to discern, which can diminish emotional connection to the performance.
One important tip for future visitors is to be prepared for some neck strain since you’ll be looking downwards for approximately two hours. Bringing a small neck pillow or taking brief breaks during intermission helped ease the discomfort for me.
Lighting effects, especially the fake lightning flashes, were a bit overwhelming from these seats, so if you're sensitive to bright lights, this might be something to consider. Despite these drawbacks, the singing, particularly Belle's clear enunciation and Mrs. Potts’ voices matching the Disney classic, was outstanding and made the experience worthwhile.
Another practical advantage I noticed was the shorter bathroom queue during intermission, which was quite convenient for a large crowd. This was because the Grand Circle attendees can use nearby door 17, minimizing wait times compared to other seating sections.
For those considering whether to splurge on better seats or stick with the budget-friendly Grand Circle, it ultimately depends on your priorities. If you value close-up facial expressions and detailed visuals, investing more might enhance your enjoyment. But if you’re mainly interested in the overall performance and choreography at a lower price, the Grand Circle offers a decent option.
Lastly, the view from the Grand Circle L38 seat, near doors 15 to 22 and boxes 7 and 8, provided a clear vantage point of the entire stage layout. It's a good spot if you prefer a panoramic view and don’t mind some perspective compromises. Just remember to arrive early to secure the best seats within this section.
