DIY Princess Chair

You guys, I'm so excited to share my latest project with you – my very own DIY Princess chair! I've always wanted to create a special, magical spot for my little one, and what's more enchanting than a bespoke princess chair? It's seriously one of the most rewarding DIYs I’ve done, and surprisingly, it doesn't break the bank! I started by hunting for a sturdy, pre-loved chair that had good 'bones.' You can often find fantastic pieces at thrift stores or even rummage sales – the more character, the better! Don't worry if it looks a bit rough; that's where the magic of transformation comes in. For my chair, I chose a classic wooden one, but I've seen amazing transformations using old high chairs too, turning them into 'fab and funky high chairs' fit for royalty! Once I had my base, the real fun began. First, a good clean and light sanding to prepare the surface. Then, a coat of primer is a must for good paint adhesion. For the main color, I went with a soft pastel pink, but shimmering gold, regal purple, or even an icy blue for a 'Snow Queen' vibe would be gorgeous. I used a chalk paint for a lovely matte finish, but gloss enamel works just as well for durability. Next, the embellishments! This is where you can truly personalize your princess chair. I added some pearl trim around the edges of the seat and back, and a little glitter spray for that extra sparkle. You could also hot-glue on some faux flowers, rhinestones, or even a small tiara to the top of the chair back. For the cushion, I found some beautiful velvet fabric and simply cut it to size, adding a bit of foam for comfort. If you're feeling ambitious, you could even try your hand at some simple tufting!
