If the chemistry isn't there, or their conflicts feel contrived, the whole romance falls apart. I've read bl manhwa where the characters clearly don't even like each other, yet they're pushed together, or their issues are glossed over rather than truly worked through. It makes for an unconvincing and frankly, unsatisfying read. I look for genuine connection, mutual respect, and a relationship that feels earned, not forced.
