「雷鶏（さんだぁばぁど）」は、初見だと読み方で一瞬迷うけど（笑）、入ってみると“路地裏の当たり店”感が強い居酒屋でした。宇部新川駅から行きやすい距離感で、仕事終わりの一杯にも使いやすいと思います。 私が特に推したいのは、やっぱり名物の地鶏もも炭火焼き。鉄板で提供されるので、席に届いた瞬間に炭の香りがふわっと立ってテンションが上がります。歯ごたえはしっかりめだけど固すぎず、噛むほどジューシー。量もあるので、2人以上ならまず頼んでシェアが安心です。 そして地味に感動したのが「残った鶏でガーリックライスにできる」流れ。これ、最初からガーリックライス単品を頼むのとは違って、炭火の香りが移った鶏の旨みがご飯に入ってくるのが良いんです。卵黄とネギの組み合わせも反則級で、締めにちょうどよくて一気に完食しました。 おつまみ系も“ちゃんと手をかけてる”印象で、だし巻き玉子や焼き魚、枝豆みたいな定番があると、初訪問でも安心して注文できます。あと写真で見たフライドポテトが2種類あるのも面白くて、厚切りのポテトチップスっぽい方と、細切りの王道ポテトがあるので、その日の気分で選べます。飲み会の箸休めに強いです。 お酒は、日本酒が好きな人ほど刺さると思います。東洋美人（萩）や金雀（岩国）みたいに、県内の銘柄を気軽に試せるのが嬉しいポイント。冷やし具合も良くて、料理と一緒にスイスイ進みました。サワーは＋200円で倍量にできるらしいので、コスパ重視ならここも要チェック。 最後に、人気店っぽい空気があったので、確実に入りたい日は予約推奨です。駅近で「地鶏もも炭火焼きと日本酒」を楽しみたいなら、宇部新川の雷鶏（サンダーバード）はかなり満足度高めでした。
