3 basics to starting of your lifting era
Dear Diary: Remember no one ever walked into a gym for the first time and knew how to do all these things.
The greats just allowed themselves to be beginners 🧠✨
Don’t forget to save or share with a girly struggling to see progress. 🤝🏼
When you're beginning weightlifting, one of the most important lessons I've found is to prioritize technique over lifting heavy weights right away. Engaging your core correctly not only stabilizes your posture but also protects your back from injury. I remember practicing core engagement by lying flat on the floor and holding the contraction for a few seconds, gradually increasing the hold time. It felt strange at first, but it really helped build the habit. Recording your workouts can also be a game changer. Watching videos of yourself helped me spot form issues I wasn't aware of during training, like letting my chin drop or rounding my back. Training in front of a mirror is another useful way to self-correct as long as it doesn’t distract you from lifting safely. Remember, maintaining good form always beats lifting heavier weights with poor technique. Balance is often overlooked but is crucial as you add more weight to your routine. Strengthening your stabilizing muscles over time helps your body support heavier lifts without risking injury. It took patience, but focusing on balance and gradually increasing difficulty helped me stay consistent and prevented discouragement. Becoming comfortable as a beginner is part of the journey. Allow yourself to make mistakes and learn. Sharing these basics with friends who are just starting out or facing similar struggles not only reinforces your understanding but builds a community of support that keeps motivation high. Stick with these foundational elements, and your lifting era will be a successful and rewarding one.
