TIPS to maximise small kitchen space! 🍳

Let’s be real — Singapore BTOs and Condos are shrinking. But having a small kitchen doesn't mean you have to compromise on style or storage!

We turned this compact kitchen into a Mid-Century Modern dream that feels huge!

So here are 6 design hacks we used to maximise every corner (without looking cluttered):

1. Extendable Table

Hosting made easy. An extendable table provides extra seating when needed but can be neatly tucked away when you’re not hosting.

2. Corner Niche

Make awkward corners work for you — provide practical storage while keeping your kitchen layout clean and purposeful. Every inch can be put to good use.

3. Kitchen Island

Kitchen island isn’t just for looks — it extends prep space, gives you more room to cook, and doubles as an extra surface for everyday use.

4. Wood accents

Add warmth and balance to a minimalist space with wood accents. They soften clean lines and create a comfortable, inviting atmosphere.

5. Suspended shelves

Keep essentials accessible without cluttering the space. Suspended shelves make the kitchen feel airy while giving you smart storage above countertops.

6. Cream sintered stone

Upgrade your surfaces with cream sintered stone. Durable, easy to maintain, and soft on the eyes, it adds a refined, timeless feel to your kitchen palette.

... Read moreWhen working with small kitchen spaces, a well-thought-out table of contents or design plan for your renovation can make all the difference. Creative table of contents design not only helps you organize your kitchen layout efficiently but also inspires you to consider every corner's potential beyond just storage. For example, starting your design with a clear map of functional zones lets you allocate areas for cooking, prep, dining, and storage more deliberately. This method ensures that items you frequently use stay within easy reach, reducing clutter and enhancing workflow. Personally, incorporating multi-functional elements like the extendable dining table and the kitchen island made hosting and everyday meals much easier without sacrificing square footage. Also, using suspended shelves elevated storage without making the room feel boxed in, maintaining an airy atmosphere crucial for smaller spaces. Integrating natural materials like wood accents and durable cream sintered stone adds warmth and elegance, balancing the minimalist clean lines typically found in smaller kitchens. These textures give the space personality and help avoid a cramped, clinical feel. In my experience, taking a creative approach to your kitchen plan and incorporating clever design elements can truly maximise your small kitchen, making it both beautiful and functional. Don't shy away from mixing practical storage hacks with aesthetic touches, and be sure to plan your layout with a clear table of contents in mind to get the best results.
