Companion Planting
I’ll never plant a garden without adding this absolutely vital flower: marigolds.
Marigolds planted near pest-sensitive crops like beans act like a distraction. They’ll take a majority of the slug chomps and big nibbles, leaving tender vegetables safe and sound.
When I helped my mom grow on a larger scale when I was a kid, we always planted full rows of marigolds between each row of tender greens. The marigolds get munched on heavily, but they’re a small cost for a bountiful harvest.
