Sometimes we are lead into painful places.

Sometimes when we follow the Spirit, it leads us into places that are uncomfortable or even painful. The Spirit lead Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan. The promise isn’t that God will make us prosper with earthly things or remove trouble from our lives — the promise is that we will have peace. God WILL in fact give you more than YOU can handle, but there is nothing that we cannot handle WITH HIM.

“Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted  by the devil.” (Matthew 4:1)

”’I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.’” (John 16:33, NIV) #peace #holyspirit #temptation #biblestudy #christianliving

... Read moreFrom my own experience, walking in faith often means stepping into uncertain and uncomfortable situations that test our endurance and trust. Like the Spirit leading Jesus into the wilderness, I’ve found that some of the most painful and challenging seasons in life serve a greater purpose — shaping character, deepening faith, and teaching reliance on God’s peace that surpasses understanding. When facing trials or temptations, it’s natural to hope for quick relief or for difficulties to vanish, but the Bible reminds us that peace does not come from the absence of trouble but from the assurance that God has overcome the world (John 16:33). This has been deeply comforting to me during times of hardship. I remember a particular season when challenges seemed overwhelming, yet leaning into prayer and the Spirit’s guidance helped me handle more than I thought possible. Understanding that God may allow us to be led into 'painful places' not to harm us but to build endurance encourages a mindset shift—seeing hardship as a spiritual growth opportunity rather than defeat. The wilderness, both literal and metaphorical, is a place of testing and transformation. Embracing this truth helps me approach difficulties not with fear or resentment but with hope and peace rooted in Christ’s victory. If you’re on a similar journey, remember that peace isn’t the absence of struggle, but the presence of God with you in the midst of it. Trusting the Spirit’s leading, even into uncomfortable or painful situations, eventually strengthens faith and brings deeper peace than circumstances could ever provide.

Notes titled 'FORCED PT 1' by Pastor Mike McClure, discussing how God processes individuals privately before public use. It highlights hidden seasons as periods for character development, using examples like David, Jesus, and Moses, emphasizing that hidden doesn't mean forgotten.
Continuation notes defining 'Hesitation' as holy, transformative, and a space for becoming. It introduces 'Forced Multiplier' as God-used pressures that accelerate development and growth, emphasizing that some painful seasons are productive and remove the option to stay the same.
Further notes on 'Forced Humility,' explaining it as divine correction when one refuses to lower themselves. It lists factors leading to forced humility, such as pride, self-sufficiency, and lack of submission, concluding that God breaks what breaks you to build lasting character.
