Where is your security?
There is nothing wrong with wanting financial or housing security. It’s a natural, human need and when we have it, it can help us be open to focusing more on other things, like our God-given purpose in life. But Jesus showed us that it’s certainly not the most important thing, and that in fact our security in heaven and being used by God for what He created us for is in fact our first priority. It shows us that nothing here on earth can compare to what is waiting on the other side of heaven.
Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” (Matthew 8:20)
In my personal journey, I have found that the pursuit of financial and housing security often provides temporary comfort but rarely leads to lasting peace.
