He’s not a “gotcha God
We are called to repentance and to ask God for forgiveness. Jesus paid the price with his blood so that we might turn from our sins and turn to God so that we would be made right with the Father again. If you believe that, that is what saves you, and God knows if we believe that in our hearts, even if we struggle with our faith at times.
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
Reflecting on this message, I realize how essential patience and forgiveness are in my spiritual journey. Often, we struggle with feelings of guilt or doubt, thinking that God is waiting to catch us in wrongdoing. But this perspective misses the heart of His love. God’s promise, as emphasized in 2 Peter 3:9, shows He is always waiting with open arms, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to find redemption through repentance. In my personal experience, embracing this truth has transformed how I approach my faith. Instead of fearing judgment, I now see every moment as an opportunity to grow closer to God. When I falter, I remind myself that Jesus paid the ultimate price with His blood so that I might be made right with the Father. This reassurance gives me strength to keep moving forward, even when my faith wavers. Moreover, repentance isn’t a one-time event but a continual turning of the heart towards God. It is humbling yet freeing to admit our struggles and seek forgiveness daily. This process has helped me experience God’s love more deeply and has encouraged me to extend grace toward others as well. For anyone wrestling with faith doubts or feelings of unworthiness, remember that God’s love is steadfast and His timing perfect. The journey toward spiritual renewal is ongoing, and every step taken with trust and sincerity makes a lasting impact. Trust in His patience and let His forgiveness inspire you to live with hope and purpose.
