⭐ Initial Thoughts: Was skeptical because I love matcha but the ads felt very forced and like they were trying too hard to sell how ‘great’ it was.
😋 Taste: Good, but if you like matcha it’s definitely different
🥄 Texture: Doesn’t react the same as matcha when whisking but blends well.
💵 Worth the Price? Eh, for me not really but you get a pretty good amount compared to traditional matcha
🔥 Rating:🔥🔥🔥
💛 Repurchase? Depending on how this 60 day replacement goes.
✨ Final Thoughts:
I Like it. I use a little bit more cream and milk than I usually use in my matcha, but it’s still good. I get the same energy and focus I do with traditional matcha (if not more, but matcha helps me lock in). Overall, I like it. I cancelled my subscription because I ended up getting like six bags at once, so I don’t need more for a while.
Customer service is on point. My delivery was taking a minute. The carrier kept pushing the delivery. RYZE was super quick in response and very helpful.
Beyond just taste and texture, many folks wonder: 'Is Ryze Mushroom Matcha actually good for you?' In my experience, while I definitely felt that familiar boost of energy and focus, it wasn't dramatically different from my regular matcha ritual in terms of immediate effects. However, the appeal of mushroom blends like Ryze often lies in their adaptogenic properties. I did a little digging after trying it, and Ryze's blend typically includes mushrooms like cordyceps, lion's mane, and reishi. These are often touted for supporting cognitive function, stress response, and general well-being. So, when I felt that "lock in" effect, it might have been more than just the caffeine. It’s hard to say definitively from a personal trial, but the idea of a drink mix that potentially offers these extra benefits is definitely intriguing. For me, it felt like a smoother, less jittery energy compared to coffee, much like traditional matcha. Comparing it to my beloved traditional matcha, there are some key differences. While both provide a clean energy, Ryze's Mushroom Matcha has a slightly earthier, less grassy flavor profile. If you're a purist who loves the vibrant, sometimes umami notes of ceremonial grade matcha, this might be a subtle shift for your palate. The texture, as I mentioned, also isn't quite the same when whisking – it doesn't get that frothy, creamy head as easily without adding extra milk or cream. I found that a good frother or even a small electric reamer really helps achieve a smoother, more enjoyable drink. Speaking of preparation, I've learned a few tricks to get the most out of my Ryze Mushroom Matcha (since I ended up with so many bags!). While the packaging suggests one scoop, I often find myself using a bit more or adjusting the liquid ratio. For a truly creamy sip, adding a splash of oat milk or almond milk, and then using a handheld frother, makes a world of difference. It transforms the 'Drink Mix' into more of a latte-style beverage, which I personally prefer. And don't forget to properly mix it; unlike traditional matcha which can clump, this blend dissolves quite well with a good stir or shake. Ultimately, while I enjoyed my Ryze Mushroom Matcha, my 'Eh, not really worth the price' comment came down to personal preference and habit. I adore the ritual of traditional matcha, and for me, the unique benefits of the mushroom blend weren't a strong enough pull to replace it entirely, especially given the cost. However, if you're sensitive to coffee, looking for an alternative boost, or curious about incorporating adaptogenic mushrooms into your daily routine without a strong mushroom taste, it could be a fantastic option. The fact that it comes in convenient 30 Servings per bag is great for consistent use. My advice? If you're on the fence, give it a try with their starter kit – you might just find your new go-to morning brew!
