Jade Si Dian Jin instead of Gold? My reflections✨

Years ago for our wedding, we went with a full jade Si Dian Jin set from Li Hong Jade at Raffles City instead of the usual gold. I have always wanted to own a bangle thinking I’ll wear it everyday. I loved (and still love) its simple, calming elegance. No loud sparkle, just pure natural beauty and quiet timelessness. ✨

Looking back now, it’s become so precious to me that I barely wear it 😅 It mostly stays safely tucked away because I’m scared of damaging or losing something so meaningful from our wedding day. Perhaps I shouldn’t have add the gold accent to the bangle.

Do I slightly regret choosing something this special that I don’t use often, or is this normal for heirloom pieces? Would you pick jade over gold for your Si Dian Jin? Sharing my honest reflection years later.

... Read moreChoosing a jade Si Dian Jin set instead of traditional gold for our wedding was a meaningful decision deeply tied to personal preference and cultural significance. Li Hong Jade offers exquisite craftsmanship that truly highlights jade’s natural beauty, which feels both calming and timeless. Many might wonder if jade can match the enduring value and shine of gold. From my experience, while gold radiates bright sparkle, jade presents a subtle elegance that resonates with those who appreciate nature’s artistry without flashiness. Owning a jade piece often feels like holding a little piece of history and culture. I must admit, though, there’s a bittersweet feeling about how rarely I wear the bangle now. It’s a treasured keepsake from a milestone day, so I keep it safely tucked away to avoid damage or loss. This hesitation is common with heirloom-quality jewelry, especially when the piece carries significant emotional weight. If you are considering a jade Si Dian Jin, it’s important to weigh your lifestyle and usage intentions. Jade is durable and meaningful but may require more thoughtful care compared to gold. Adding gold accents, like I did, can blend the best of both worlds—combining jade’s tranquil beauty with gold’s classic appeal. Overall, my journey with Li Hong Jade’s Si Dian Jin taught me that choosing jewelry is deeply personal. Whether you prefer gold or jade, what matters most is how the piece reflects your own values, stories, and future memories. This reflection has only deepened my appreciation for the artistry of Li Hong Jade and the cultural heritage preserved in such sacred wedding pieces.

The set is so pretty 😍. I'm a Cantonese so it will be 7 different designs of gold bangle. Will it be weird to wear 7 different designs or colour of jade bangles? 🤔😅
