📚 Books I’ve finished this summer ☀️
📚The Silent Patient — This story line was a little slow probably wouldn’t have finished if it wasn’t an audiobook but the ending did take a turn.
⭐️ Rating: 3.5/5
📚The Housemaid’s Secret — It was good but not as good as the first one.
⭐️ Rating: 4.2/5
📚The Housemaid is Watching — This one was also slow… not as good as the others.
⭐️ Rating: 3.9/5
📚The Crash — This was a good read but the two main characters were getting on my nerves. The ending had a good twist though.
⭐️ Rating: 4.3/5
📚 The Teacher — I feel like this should have a warning because it involves SA on a minor which can be triggering to some.
⭐️ Rating: 4/5
📚 Never Lie — This story line threw me for a loop. I thought I had it figured out but Freida proved me wrong once again.
⭐️ Rating: 4.5/5
📚The Tenant —This was another slow one, but the ending made up for it.
⭐️ Rating: 4.2/5
This summer, I dove into a variety of mystery and thriller novels that kept me on the edge of my seat. One standout was 'The Silent Patient' by Alex Michaelides, an enthralling psychological thriller that expertly unfolds a tale of obsession and betrayal. Although it began slowly, the unexpected twist at the end left a lasting impression, warranting a solid 3.5-star rating. In contrast, 'The Housemaid’s Secret' by Freida McFadden captivated me with its intense narrative, although I found it slightly less engaging than its predecessor. Nevertheless, I rated it a commendable 4.2 out of 5 for its intriguing plot. Another engaging title by McFadden was 'The Housemaid is Watching', which while enjoyable, lacked the excitement of the earlier novels, leading to a 3.9-star evaluation. I also read 'The Crash', which, despite its irritating characters, offered an unforgettable ending twist that bumped up my rating to 4.3 stars. 'The Teacher', another McFadden creation, tackled disturbingly sensitive themes but was delivered with sensitivity, earning a solid 4-star rating from me. On the other hand, 'Never Lie' exceeded my expectations with its shocking storyline, earning a remarkable 4.5 out of 5. Lastly, 'The Tenant' provided a slower build-up but ultimately delivered a satisfactory conclusion, landing a score of 4.2 stars. If you're interested in suspenseful narratives and psychological depth, these books are a must-read this summer!
