The moment you descend those winding cliff-top stairs, you're greeted by a breathtaking panorama of golden sands meeting unbelievably clear, turquoise waters, framed by some of the most spectacular rock formations I've ever seen. One of the absolute highlights for me was exploring the iconic rock formations. You'll quickly spot the famous 'M Rock' formation from different vantage points, which looks incredible, especially during low tide. I highly recommend taking a boat tour or even renting a kayak to get up close to the sea arches and hidden grottoes carved by centuries of waves. It's a completely different perspective and truly lets you appreciate the sheer scale and artistry of nature. The water is so calm and inviting that you just want to dive in! For anyone considering snorkeling, Praia da Marinha is a dream come true. As a Blue Flag beach, its waters are pristine, offering fantastic visibility. I spent hours discovering vibrant marine life around the base of the cliffs and submerged rocks. Remember to bring your own gear, as rentals might be limited. It's easy to lose track of time exploring the underwater world right off the secluded sandy beach. Timing your visit can also make a huge difference. I found that visiting during 'golden hour' – either early morning or late afternoon – transformed the landscape. The sunlight casts incredible shadows and hues on the rock formations and the water glows, making it a photographer's paradise. If you prefer fewer crowds, consider visiting in 'March' or October. The weather is still pleasant, and you'll have a more tranquil experience to truly soak in the serenity of this unique spot. While there aren't many facilities directly on the beach, there's a small kiosk at the top of the cliffs. Make sure to pack water and snacks, and wear comfortable shoes for the walk down and back up. This gem is definitely worth the effort!
