The Mayborn Museum is great and family friendly as well, in Waco, Texas.

Yeah The Dr Pepper Museum is very interactive and family friendly in Waco. A ton Boutique shopping and great restaurants. You can also rent kayaks, canoes and paddle boards at the Brazos River/Cameron Park.
