📍 City/Country: Nice/ Jean Cap Ferrat/ Cagnes- sur-mer/ VilleFranche-Sur-Mer - France 🇫🇷
f I could bottle peace, beauty, and elegance, it would look exactly like this corner of the South of France.
During my stay, I chose to stay in Villefranche-sur-Mer, a colorful seaside town that feels like it belongs in a watercolor painting. Waking up here felt like a dream: pastel houses, ocean views, and boats gently rocking in the harbor. It’s calm, romantic, and oh-so-French.
Just a few minutes away is Cap Ferrat, Southern France one of the most exclusive and breathtaking spots on the French Riviera.
Here, I spent my days walking along coastal trails, dipping into hidden beaches, and admiring villas straight out of a movie set. The energy is serene, luxurious, but still deeply connected to nature.
Whether you’re into peaceful escapes, slow travel, or just craving that effortless French chic… this is your sign to explore these places.

... Read moreOkay, so you're dreaming of the French Riviera, but maybe you're picturing crowded beaches and tourist traps. Let me tell you, my recent trip to Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat completely changed my perspective! I was on a mission to find those truly candid beaches – the ones where you can actually relax, hear the waves, and feel like you've stumbled upon a secret slice of paradise. And guess what? I found them!
One of my favorite discoveries was Paloma Beach. While it's not entirely 'hidden,' visiting early in the morning or late afternoon gave it that serene, almost private feel. The water is crystal clear, and the views of the Bay of Beaulieu-sur-Mer are just breathtaking. It’s perfect for a leisurely swim or just soaking up the sun. Another spot that really captured my heart was Plage des Fosses. It’s a bit more rugged, with beautiful pebbles and fewer facilities, which means it attracts a more laid-back crowd. The coastal path from Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat offers stunning panoramic views, and you can truly feel the untouched beauty of the Mediterranean there. Remember to pack good walking shoes for these coastal trails – trust me, the views are worth every step!
Beyond the sandy shores, the peninsula itself is an absolute treasure. I spent hours simply walking the Sentier du Littoral, a coastal path that winds around the entire Cap Ferrat. It's dotted with spectacular villas, including glimpses of grand estates that make you feel like you're in a movie. While I didn't get to tour every single one, even seeing a place like 'Villa Patricia' from afar, nestled amongst the lush greenery, really adds to the luxurious yet natural charm of the area. These walks are perfect for finding your own quiet coves and enjoying the natural beauty without the crowds.
Villefranche-sur-Mer, where I chose to stay, was the perfect base. Its colorful old town, narrow streets, and bustling harbor offer a completely different vibe than the more opulent Cap Ferrat, yet they complement each other beautifully. I loved spending evenings there, enjoying fresh seafood by the water. And for those sun-drenched beach days? A good SPF is non-negotiable! I always make sure to carry a reliable sunscreen, something like a high-protection sun water for face, body, and hair – you’ll thank yourself later when you're exploring under the glorious Mediterranean sun.
If you're into slow travel and truly want to disconnect, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is a dream. It’s less about the bustling nightlife and more about the quiet luxury, stunning natural landscapes, and the feeling of stepping back in time. My advice? Rent a scooter or an electric bike to explore at your own pace, try to visit outside of peak August if you can, and always be prepared to wander off the beaten path – that’s where the real magic (and those truly candid beach moments) happens. It’s a place that invites you to linger, to breathe deeply, and to simply exist in its unparalleled beauty.
