Went to Pout Cafe on my 25th Bday ✨🎂
This recently popular cafe spot is well-hidden on the 6th Story
of this shophouse along South Bridge road. It was a place that I have wanted to visit since sometime ago and was glad that we were able to pop by for a cuppa on my Birthday 🤭☕️ Our virgin experience at /POUT Rooftop Cafe went pretty alright, so let's break it down for you all here :
PROS ✅️
- Coffee was made well, my bf being picky abt his beans / coffee, was surprised by how nice the coffee was. It was rather efficient.
- We got the counter / bar seats so we had the benefits of the much-heard-of view 😍 caught a very good glimpse of the Marina Bay Sands and it was great weather too!
- Turnovers were pretty fast, so despite the long q, everyone got seated rather fast(:
- Cinnamon Roll tasted great, and it was HUGE ! Although the food took some time to arrive as it seemed pretty packed for a Weekday (we went on a Wednesday)
CONS 💭
- Food took quite some while to come, after we had already drank about half our drinks ..
- The Barista had served the wrong drink to my bf, as he had ordered Americano, yet he was served a cafe latte 🫠
- Can get quite noisy in there as several businessmen / businesswomen were busychatting and having meetings 😅
CONCLUSION :
Rating : ☕️☕️☕️☕️/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We would return, but perhaps will avoid heading to Pout on a Weelday due to the working crowd .. unles sif you choose to pop by only after 3pm! It sure was a great place to grab a cuppa and have a nice chat with my partner ❣️
Visiting a rooftop cafe like POUT offers a unique experience that combines great coffee culture with atmospheric urban views. From my own visits to similar spots, I've found that the ambiance and aesthetics greatly enhance the enjoyment of your cuppa. One tip is to aim for off-peak hours, as these places tend to get busy with working crowds during weekdays, making it noisier and slowing down service. Late afternoons or weekends often deliver a more relaxed vibe with less noise and faster food service. The view is definitely a highlight when sitting at the bar or counter seats, where you can really soak in iconic landmarks like Marina Bay Sands. For coffee lovers, even picky drinkers appreciate well-prepared brews—so don't hesitate to inquire about the beans or brewing method to find your preferred style. Regarding food, if you visit POUT or similar cafes, be prepared that some menu items like cinnamon rolls might come in generous portions and take longer to arrive during busy times. This is common at trendy cafes with limited kitchen space. If correct order accuracy matters, gently double-check your drinks upon receipt to avoid mix-ups. Besides the basics, some rooftop cafes torch specialty desserts like basque burnt cheesecake, which can be a delightful treat enhancing your overall experience. Also, capturing selfies with the city skyline adds a personal touch to your visit documentation. In summary, rooftop cafes are ideal for date ideas or casual meetups, offering a charming escape above the bustling streets with quality coffee and treats. Plan your timing, secure a good seat at the counter, and enjoy the blend of great tastes and views for a memorable cafe outing.
