USS Arlington (LPD 24)

We got to tour the USS Arlington (LPD 24) during our visit to the Maine Lobster Festival!

The USS Arlington is the seventh of the San Antonio (LPD 17) class ships to be commissioned and the second U.S. Navy ship to be named in honor of the victims of the 9/11 attacks. The keel for the USS Arlington was laid on May 26, 2008, at Northrop Grumman's Ingalls shipyard in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Her maiden deployment took place in October 2015, operating in the 5th and 6th Fleets. The USS Arlington continues to conduct integrated amphibious operations in the execution of Navy and Marine Corps missions worldwide, projecting Sailors and Marines ashore to defend and support democracy abroad. #rocklandmaine #mainelobsterfestival #USSArlington
