⛩️ Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine
A small shrine hidden in the middle of the Nishiki Market of Kyoto, walking all the way to the end of the Nishiki Market, there is an orange lamp in front of it like an entrance to another world. 🏮
This shrine is "Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine," or Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine, a shrine built to worship Sugawara no Michizane, the god of education, knowledge, art, and success. Japanese people ask for blessings of study, exams, work, and life paths, because the god of Tenjin is the god of intelligence. ✨
Although the inside of the shrine is not very large, the atmosphere is very calm, unlike the outside, the market is full of people and talking, and when you walk through the lanterns, it seems that the sound around you gradually softens.
🌸 The front has a well to wash the body and mind before worshiping. Remember that when you go there are decorated flowers, it looks beautiful and feels very soft.
🐂 walk in a little more and find a sacred bull statue that symbolizes the Tenmangu Shrine. It is believed that if stroking the cow will help with wisdom and success.
⛲ There is also the holy well Nishiki no Mizu, the groundwater of Kyoto. Some people wash their hands or back the water, and next to the main shrine there are spots selling omamori and amulets.
📍 way to travel.
