Saturo Gojo

Hey fellow JJK fans and aspiring artists! I know how challenging, yet rewarding, it can be to capture our beloved Satoru Gojo on paper. After spending countless hours on my own latest drawings, including those colored pieces you saw, I wanted to share some of my personal tips and tricks for drawing Gojo, especially if you're aiming for an easy and effective approach. First off, let's talk about Gojo's iconic features. His white spiky hair is a defining characteristic. When I draw it, I don't just use pure white. Instead, I start with a very light grey or even a pale blue as a base, then use white highlights to create that spiky, textured look. It gives it more depth than just a flat color. For his eyes, whether you're showing his mesmerizing bright blue eye or the mysterious black blindfold, pay attention to the shape. The blindfold isn't just a straight line; it has a slight curve that follows his brow line, adding to his cool demeanor. When his eye is visible, I love to layer different shades of blue to make it really pop and capture that intense Six Eyes energy. One of the details I always focus on is his expression. Gojo often has a confident smirk, which can be tricky! I usually start with his basic facial structure, then slowly add the curve of the lips to get that playful, yet powerful, smirk just right. Don't forget his outfit details either. The purple and black collar and his dark jacket with blue accents are simple but crucial for his overall look. I find that lightly sketching the main lines of his jacket first, then adding the details, helps keep the proportions correct. Now, for coloring! This is where Gojo really comes alive. For the white hair, as I mentioned, layering light cool tones underneath makes a huge difference. For his bright blue eye, I use a darker blue for the pupil, then blend lighter blues outwards, leaving a tiny white dot for reflection – that's my secret to making it sparkle! If you're drawing him with his blindfold, consider the subtle shadows and folds in the fabric to give it a realistic texture. And don't shy away from using references! Looking at official art or screenshots of Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen helps immensely in getting those details right. Start with simple poses, and don't be afraid to trace initially to get a feel for his proportions. Over time, you'll develop your own style. Sometimes I even try sketching a quick Suguru Geto next to him, as you saw in one of my sketches, just to practice dynamic poses and character interactions.
