STOP PROCRASTINATING
Taking pictures of chores I haven’t kept with actually motivated me more
Procrastination is something almost everyone struggles with at some point, especially when it comes to household chores. What really helped me was turning my procrastination into a visual challenge. By taking pictures of chores I had been avoiding—like cleaning stubborn paint off the trash can or tidying spaces I kept putting off—I created a clear reminder of what needed to be done. This visual record wasn’t meant to shame me but to motivate me. Each time I saw those photos, it pushed me to tackle a task, even if just for a few minutes. I found that setting small timed goals, such as 'clean for 5 minutes' or 'focus on one item for 4 minutes,' made the chores feel less overwhelming. It’s amazing how much you can accomplish in just a few focused minutes. The feeling of making visible progress, say wiping off paint or organizing a shelf, gave me a sense of accomplishment that encouraged me to keep going. Moreover, photographing the chores created a timeline for myself. I could see how long certain tasks took and plan better for next time. Using this method, I slowly transformed procrastination from a barrier into a motivating tool. For anyone struggling, I highly recommend trying this simple trick—it may just be the push you need to start checking off that never-ending chore list.
