This wasn’t my first dragon, it won’t be my last….
Bruce’s Dragon has always been a fan fav for me, ever since I first came across it on a social media platform!
So when I began working with it, I realized it’s a very versatile cv, strong genetics, fast rooter, strong grower, healthy etc.
This is its fourth season and it’s finally in the ground… year one, grafted to Pachanoi, year two, grafted to Pachanoi, year three, degrafted and began rooting and grew its first pup, year four… popped it in the ground to allow it’s roots to take hold!
By next year this fire breathing dragon will be very established and ready to take flight… if it can handle winter that is! #cactusjeff #brucesdragon
Bruce’s Dragon has gained a reputation among enthusiasts for its adaptability and aesthetic qualities. This remarkable cactus, known scientifically as Echinopsis pachanoi, has origins in the Andes Mountains, where it flourishes despite harsh conditions. For optimal growth, ensuring proper sunlight and well-draining soil is crucial. Many choose to graft Bruce's Dragon onto other cacti to enhance growth vigor and establish strong roots quicker. Additionally, monitoring moisture levels and providing occasional fertilizer can promote healthy development. It's important to note that the plant thrives in temperatures between 70°F and 85°F (21°C - 29°C), and care must be taken during the colder months to protect it from frost. As it matures, Bruce’s Dragon can produce vibrant flowers, adding to its charm in any plant collection. Whether a beginner or a seasoned grower, incorporating this adaptable cactus can bring joy and a touch of nature's beauty into your home.
