gut health smoothie recipe✨

Unfortunately there’s a lot of misinformation out there about gut health. Many of the expensive supplements on the market that claim to improve gut health aren’t actually science-based! In the US, supplement companies can put almost any claim on the bottle as long as they include an FDA disclaimer.

Luckily the science points us to a few simple, affordable tools to actually improve gut health:

1. Eat enough fiber

2. Limit processed foods and instead opt for minimally processed foods when possible (especially fruits, veggies, whole grains, nuts, and seeds)

3. Add fermented foods like kimchi or Greek yogurt into our diet

4. Add prebiotic and probiotic supplements, as needed (ideally look for supplements that are third-party tested and check them with your doctor/dietician if you have concerns)

5. Get enough sleep!
