Why am I like this??
Supposed to be a beautiful hand crocheted blanket for my daughter. I started while she was in my stomach……. She’s 4 now 😓 and it hasn’t been touched. I don’t have time and to be honest it’s boring I used to love knitting and crocheting but now it’s an epic time waste. My brain is to overactive trying to build a brand and make money for this very child the leisurely days of knitting for hours are gone. Will I finish this? Maybe a blanket for my grandchild 😆
Many people can relate to the challenges of maintaining hobbies like knitting and crocheting in today’s fast-paced world. The shift from leisurely crafting to prioritizing responsibilities often leads to unfinished projects that stir feelings of guilt and frustration. When starting a creative endeavor, excitement often accompanies the first stitch, but as life evolves—be it through careers, parenting, or other commitments—the time for personal projects dwindles. The ongoing search for balance becomes a modern dilemma. To combat this, consider setting aside small, dedicated blocks of time regularly to rekindle your passion for crocheting or knitting. Moreover, community engagement can reignite your motivation. Joining local crocheting groups or online forums can provide support, encouragement, and even inspiration through shared experiences. You might also discover new patterns, tips, and tricks shared by fellow crafting enthusiasts that can make the endeavor feel less daunting and more rewarding. Ultimately, it's essential to remember that hobbies should bring joy and not additional stress. Embrace the joy of small wins, like completing a square or trying a new stitch, even if they don’t culminate in a finished blanket right away. As life progresses, there might still be opportunities to revisit those unfinished projects, whether for your child or the next generation.
