Audiobooks are NOT Reading!

Honestly I used to despise audio books mostly because they just didn’t work for me. I couldn’t get into them like I could a regular book. But now I almost always have an audio book in my rotation! For me it was finding out that some books worked for me as audio books while some didn’t. My thick intense fantasy books do not work as audiobooks for me. I can give it all the attention I want to as an audio book! But little novels or rom coms that I don’t have to focus as hard on to follow, or don’t require me to immerse myself in another world work great as Audio books! I just finished this one last night on my way home from work and was crying in the best way! It was real, and raw, and morbidly funny, and a great non romance adult book! I have really been trying to broaden the types of readings I am doing and this was a great pick!

... Read moreAudiobooks have gained popularity over the years, yet many people still find themselves torn between listening and reading. While some may argue that listening to a story is not the same as reading, it's important to note the varying ways people engage with different formats. For example, immersive novels filled with complex worlds may not resonate well as audiobooks for everyone, while lighter genres such as romance or short stories can be perfect audio companions. In fact, studies have shown that audiobooks can enhance understanding and retention for certain types of content. By activating different cognitive processes, audiobooks offer a fresh way to enjoy literature and storytelling. During commutes, workouts, or while performing chores, audiobooks can transform mundane tasks into adventures of imagination. When selecting audiobooks, consider your personal interests—what genres do you enjoy? Are you open to experimenting with new authors or themes? A great recommendation for those looking to dive into the audiobook realm is 'The Faculty Lounge' by Jennifer Mathieu, which perfectly captures a blend of humor, relatability, and raw emotion. The experience of listening to it can evoke genuine reactions, making it a standout choice for anyone eager to broaden their auditory reading list. With so many options available, audiobooks can provide flexibility and engagement, offering something for every listener's taste.
