“How do I know if he’s the one?”
Listen, I don’t have all the answers. I am not anywhere close to perfect and neither is our marriage. But I can say that our marriage has taught me more about how to deeply love someone like Christ does than anything else.
So yes, I got married at 18 and here’s why: I knew he was the one God had for me. How did I know? I just knew.
Just kidding, there were a few things that made me sure that he was the one. I know I got tired of people telling me “you just know” and while there is actually some truth to that, you really do just know, there are things that for me confirmed it.
First I prayed constantly and prayed over him. Prayed about him. Prayed over myself that I would be wise enough to know if he was the one. I prayed over my future marriage, that is this boy was to be my husband that our marriage would reflect Christ.
There was one day my husband was driving his jeep, about 16 years old, asking the Lord if I was the one for him. Minutes later on the highway, I pull up beside him, recognizing his jeep and I wave at him. He took that as a sign😂
He is patient with me. He encourages my dreams and passions. Our chemistry is like nothing I had ever felt before with any other “crush” I had. I love him and I don’t have to question if he loves me.
If you don’t know if the boy/girl you are with right now is the one for you, put their name in 1 Corinthians 13, starting at verse 4. “____ is patient and kind; ____ does not envy or boast; ____ is not arrogant…” and so on. Maybe that could give you some insight. Do the words match up to the person? trust your intuition, or better yet, the Holy Spirit.
Any other advice anyone has on this topic, feel free to leave a comment, you never know what someone could need to hear!

Finding out if your partner is 'the one' can be a complex journey filled with emotions and reflections. Many individuals turn to faith and personal experiences for guidance. The concept of love as described in 1 Corinthians 13 serves as a powerful touchstone; by applying this scripture to your relationship, you can assess your partner's qualities against the ideals of patience, kindness, and humility. Moreover, consider the importance of mutual support in a relationship. A strong partnership is often characterized by encouragement of each other's goals and dreams. Intuition also plays a significant role; listen closely to what your heart suggests. Prayer can be another avenue for clarity. Seek divine insight into your relationship to ensure it aligns with your values and aspirations. Engaging in open conversations with trusted friends or mentors about your feelings can also provide fresh perspectives. Ultimately, it's important to remember that understanding your relationship is a personal journey, and taking the time to reflect can lead to profound clarity.
