coquette summer dresses 🌸 Marshall's try on
My Marshalls has been getting so many good things in so I knew I had to check out their dress section! I saw here on Lemon8 that there are a ton of reformation look alike dresses and I specifically really wanted to find one of these. The original dress is $298 and while that's a really high-quality piece, I just don't want to spend $300 on a more statement dress that I won't wear all the time, especially if it's in a bolder pattern.
The first dress I tried on was a similar cut to that Ref dress I was talking about, but the neckline is a little bit higher, and the straps were not adjustable. I really didn't like where the neck line hit me because it meant that the bodice was also higher on my waist than it should've been. The pattern was cute, and for the price I guess it could work for some people as long as it fit their waist and chest OK! This was only $24 and I am in a size small.
Next, I tried on this Free People dupe which was absolutely incredible! It fits nearly the exact same as the real thing! This was $29 and I was a little hesitant only about the color of this. I think it blended a little too much into my skin tone and washed me out. Had this been a different color I would've definitely gotten it! I am in a size small!
This dress with a high neck and pockets was one of my favorites! It was absolutely so flattering on as well as very comfortable. This came in a light blue as well but of course I am in my butter yellow era. This was $29 and I am in a size small.
This was by far my favorite dress of the day! This is another take on the Ref dress, but this one had adjustable straps and it fit my chest and waist so much better! I also love this blue gingham pattern! This one was $39 but the quality difference between the floral dress that also had this silhouette and this gingham dress is crazy! I am in a size small!
Lastly, I tried on the butter yellow dress because I was obsessed with the details of it! I do think this color yellow is a bit too bright for me versus the other ones are more subdued and subtle. I did love the fit of this though! I am in a size small and this is $24.
