Protecting Citizens
I heard about this case in the news and strongly feel it, and similar cases, need to be discussed. Jose Medina Medina was charged with first degree murder and was then released until his court date. Now he has not shown up to his court date and he can’t be found. He is one of many around this country who has been able to pull this off. Race and ethnicity don’t matter here because this same story has happened with people of all backgrounds and in many different states. The problem is the judges. Why would anyone choose to release a person who has proven to be a danger to the community? We need to do better. May Sheridan Gorman, a young student at Loyola University who was just starting her life, rest in peace - along with all other victims who’s perpetrators get away with their despicable crimes.
