✨ my current top 9 fav reads ✨

I am not super knowledgeable regarding what society thinks is a good book or a bad book. I wouldn’t classify myself as a book girly, however, I have recently found a love of reading. These are some books I’ve read over the last year that I truly enjoyed and think you might too. Keep in mind….these are just my opinions!

✨A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham

If you like crime, this book is for you. It keeps you guessing but give enough to want to keep reading. This book also has an excellent twist!

✨All Good People Here by Ashley Flowers

Another excellent crime read! This books constantly makes you want all the answers. I was hooked from the very beginning. This book also has a great twist!

✨The Butcher and the Wren by Alaina Urquhart

Another crime read! Are you sensing a trend yet? This is probably my favorite book of all 9. This book has an extremely strong female lead. Again, this book has a twist! I love a good twist!

✨The Book of Accidents by Chuck Wendig

If you like the horror genre, this book is an excellent read. It’s a bit long and slow BUT so worth it once the story ramps up. He currently has no plans for a sequel which I am GUTTED about.

✨Where the Crawdad’s Sing by Delia Owens

I know this book has mixed reviews. Some people love it and some people hate it, I happen to love it. I have not seen the movie, I’ve only read the book. I think this is a sweet story with a little bit of crime. This also has an excellent twist in the end. Again, I LOVE A TWIST!!!!!

✨We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

I’m gonna be honest, this book is not for everyone. It is a deep dive into the mentally unhealthy brain of a teenagers who is dealing with the unimaginable. The story is slow, the twist in this book? SO WORTH THE READ AND THE WAIT!

✨Panic by Lauren Oliver

Okay, you have to read this book. This is a coming-of-age story but has so much action and mystery. Simply… you just need to read this book. This is also a series on Amazon prime, I have not watched it yet!

✨Hunt on Dark Waters by Katee Robert

Did you ever watch that Disney movie “Treasure Planet?” Well, think that, but with a female lead, a few vampires, and some smut!

✨The Magpie Society: One for Sorrow by Zoe Sugg & Amy McCulloch

Okay… stay with me… this first book in the series is excellent. It has a lot of mystery and I love a good mystery. The second book is also good, but I won’t lie, I didn’t like the ending.

If you’ve made it to this point and read this far, thank you! And let me know in the comments what your current favorite reads are so I can add them to my reading list.
