Winter blues? Me too
The polar vortex has officially made it to the Appalachian Foothills, with the RealFeel° being around 1°F it's been easy for me to hide from the outside world. It's hard to believe that a few days ago, it was around 60 degrees out.
We are packing to move out of our apartment, and most of the roads around us are going to be covered with snow for a while. I have decided to take today to slowly work on some of the necessary chores: laundry, dishes etc etc...
Seasonal depression though can be bested at times. My loving Fiancé decided to put on a show as they drew a heart in the snow for me. As well as bring our cats snow so they can experience it for the first time.
Life is hard right now, but it will pass. That's what's been getting me through this season of my life

Winter can be a challenging season, particularly for those experiencing seasonal affective disorder (SAD). The cold months can usher in feelings of sadness and isolation, driven by the lack of sunlight and the frigid temperatures. To combat these feelings, it's essential to develop coping strategies that promote mental well-being. Consider incorporating regular outdoor activities into your routine, even when it's cold outside. Sunlight exposure, even in small doses, can have a positive impact on mood. Try to go for walks under the winter sun or, if conditions permit, engage in fun activities like snowshoeing or sledding. Additionally, practicing mindfulness and expressing gratitude can shift your perspective during this challenging time. Engaging in creative outlets, such as journaling or art, can also provide an opportunity to express your emotions. Building healthy relationships with friends and family and seeking support can ease feelings of isolation. Finally, remember to set achievable goals, which can help create a sense of purpose and accomplishment during the long winter months. By embracing small wins and focusing on self-care, it's possible to navigate the challenging landscape of winter and find moments of joy, even amid the snow.
