This journey is personal, Me vs Me ✌🏽

God is the Author of this New journey I’m embracing. Ive been prioritizing my mental health and physical health lately. I’ve come to realize in our culture as black woman we live in survival mode, most of the time we have no choice. We never sit back and really think about what we NEED to become the best version of ourselves. When you look good you feel even BETTER QUEEN!! INSIDE and OUT!! I’m making sure I’m consistent in the gym, I’m consistent with healthier eating habits, with my skin care routine, Decompressing and Reflecting intentionally. Prioritizing time for myself is a non-negotiable!! when I’m my best self. I’m able to show up 100% and not 50% not 20% but 100% for my son, school, and work. This version of “Me” I’m starting to love her, I’m learning to love her, I’m learning Her she’s that GURLLL!! #embraceyourgreatness #embracethesoftness #Lemon8Diary #newjorney #transition

... Read moreEmbarking on a personal journey of self-improvement is truly a 'Me vs Me' challenge, but it's one of the most rewarding commitments you can make. It's about consciously choosing to nurture your mental and physical health, especially when life constantly demands your energy. I've learned that truly showing up for others means first showing up for yourself. And guess what? It doesn't have to be overwhelming! To truly embrace this new journey, I've found it helps to break it down into manageable steps. This isn't about perfection, but about consistent, intentional effort. 1. Define Your 'Why' & Set Realistic Goals: Before you start, ask yourself what you truly need. Is it more energy? Better sleep? A clearer mind? For me, it was realizing that living in constant 'survival mode' as a black woman was unsustainable. My goal became holistic well-being. Start small: maybe one extra gym session a week, or dedicating 15 minutes daily to quiet reflection. 2. Nourish Your Body, Inside & Out: What you eat profoundly impacts how you feel. I've made simple swaps that have transformed my energy levels. For breakfast, a hearty bowl of oatmeal topped with creamy yogurt and tart dried cranberries is a staple. Sometimes I add a scoop of vanilla plant-based protein powder for an extra boost. When snack cravings hit, a rice cake slathered with peanut butter and fresh banana slices is satisfying and healthy. And for meals, I focus on wholesome ingredients like lean protein and plenty of greens – simple dishes with pasta shells, diced chicken, and green herbs can be both delicious and nutritious. 3. Move Your Body & Find Your Rhythm: Consistency in the gym has been key for my physical strength and mental clarity. It's not just about lifting weights; it's about finding movement you enjoy. Whether it’s dancing, walking, or exploring a new yoga routine, make it something you look forward to. Even a few minutes can make a difference. Remember that feeling of confidence when you're feeling strong and healthy? That’s part of the journey. 4. Prioritize Mindful Decompression & Self-Care Rituals: This is non-negotiable for mental health. My evening routine has become sacred. After a long day, I love unwinding with a warm bath. An Epsom salt sleep soak infused with melatonin, lavender, and chamomile helps melt away tension and prepares me for restful sleep. And indulging in a luxurious rose-scented sugar scrub not only leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft but also serves as a beautiful act of self-love. Don't forget your skincare routine too – it’s a small, consistent act of caring for yourself. 5. Cultivate a Positive Inner Dialogue: This 'Me vs Me' journey also involves retraining your mind. Practice gratitude, journal your thoughts, and celebrate small victories. Learning to embrace the 'softness' and allow yourself grace is just as important as pushing yourself. Starting a new journey can feel daunting, but by taking things 'по порядку' – step by step – you build sustainable habits that make a profound difference. It's about becoming the best version of *you*, not for anyone else, but for yourself. You deserve to feel 100%!
