Work Fits after Weightloss

Before loosing 54lbs I wore anything ill fitting to cover up. Now I get to enjoy fun, cute fits because I’m more comfortable in my skin. I’m still aware of my tummy line but wearing a body suit and jeans without a sweater to mask my stomach has been unheard of!

What was also unheard of pre 54lbs? Taking full body pictures. Being confident and comfortable in your skin is difficult but once you get there even your usual insecurities seem quieter.

... Read moreOh, the infamous 'I'll wear this when I'm slimmer' pile! Who else has a wardrobe full of clothes waiting for that 'perfect' moment? For years, I did too. I'd buy things I loved, then tuck them away, convinced I needed to lose 'just a few more pounds' to truly deserve them. It was a cycle of self-sabotage, constantly delaying joy and confidence. Losing a significant amount of weight, like 54lbs, definitely changes your relationship with clothes, but the biggest transformation isn't just the number on the scale—it's the shift in mindset. Instead of waiting, I've learned to dress for the body I have *today*, celebrating every small victory and embracing comfort. One of my biggest takeaways has been to focus on fit, not just the size tag. Sizes are so arbitrary, and what matters most is how a piece drapes on your unique shape. Don't be afraid to try on different sizes and styles until you find what makes you feel amazing. For professional settings or even just everyday stylish work-from-home looks, investing in versatile staples has been a game-changer. I used to hide under baggy sweaters, but now I'm loving well-fitting pieces that highlight my shape without feeling restrictive. For example, a good quality bodysuit paired with comfortable, light-wash jeans is a fantastic foundation. You can easily dress it up with a blazer or down with a stylish striped cardigan – just like I found myself doing! I even ventured into matching ribbed sets, like a chic olive green top and skirt combo, which feels incredibly put-together yet effortless. Another tip? Don't underestimate the power of a comfortable, stylish dress. A rust-colored short-sleeved dress, for instance, can be a fantastic option for work, offering both ease and elegance. It's about finding pieces that make you feel good from the moment you put them on, rather than constantly adjusting or feeling self-conscious. And let's talk about those 'lingering insecurities' – we all have them! For me, it's still my tummy line. But instead of letting it dictate my entire outfit, I choose fabrics and cuts that skim rather than cling, or use layering to my advantage. A strategically placed belt or a high-waisted jean can work wonders. The key is to find strategies that help you feel comfortable, not to hide completely. Ultimately, this journey has been less about the weight I lost and more about the confidence I gained. It’s about realizing that style isn't about conforming to an ideal size, but about expressing who you are right now. So, if you're holding onto those 'slimmer' clothes, perhaps it's time to try them on, or better yet, go find some new pieces that make you feel incredible today. You deserve to love your fit, every single day!
