Gut Health Benefits
Rice → gentle carb source, easy to digest
Broth → hydration + sodium after stomach upset
Ginger → may help nausea + gastric emptying
Egg → easy protein source
Cooked zucchini/spinach → softer fibre than raw veg
When I first started focusing on gut health, I found simple, wholesome recipes like this Easy Gut Healing Recovery Bowl invaluable. Using ingredients that are easy to digest, such as cooked white rice and broth, really helped calm my stomach after flare-ups. I personally prefer using bone broth because of its rich minerals and natural collagen, which support gut lining repair and promote hydration. Adding freshly grated ginger was a game changer for my nausea and digestion, providing a gentle warming sensation without upsetting my stomach. I often swap spinach for bok choy depending on what’s on hand, since both soften well and add mild fiber that doesn’t irritate the gut like raw vegetables sometimes do. Instead of eggs, I have tried shredded chicken or soft tofu to add protein variety; these toppings add texture and extra nourishment. One tip I learned is to lightly oil the strainer or spoon when poaching the egg in broth to prevent sticking, making the process effortless and mess-free. The sesame oil and seeds add a nice nutty flavor and healthy fats. I sometimes drizzle a tiny amount of soy sauce, but keep it minimal to avoid excess sodium. This bowl has become a go-to comfort food when my gut feels sensitive, allowing me to eat something really nourishing, easy on my digestive system, and delicious all at once. Overall, this recipe is straightforward yet versatile, perfect for anyone dealing with IBS, acid reflux, or bloating who needs a gentle meal to support gut healing and recovery.
