Keeping track of important things: ADHDer edition

ADHD roll call, who knows the struggle?!

First let me say: this will not happen over night. You putting your items in the same space will not suddenly solve all of your problems… But it’s a good start. It took me a few solid weeks of keeping my bag in the same place for my brain to realize that's where it needs to stay forever.

And my desk, well… That’s a work in progress. But I have an alarm that goes off at the end of every work day to make sure all of my technology is back where it belongs. Headphones, computer, ipad, charger. It all goes back to the same place. I’m happy to report, there is much less losing things these days.

And if all else fails? Find My is my saving grace 😉Airtags work wonders.

Here are more tips to enhance your daily life: 1. **Create Designated Spaces**: As mentioned, giving your bag a consistent home can help. Likewise, assigning specific spots for your workstation items reduces chaos and makes retrieval easier. 2. **Use Technology Wisely**: Leverage tools such as reminders or organizational apps that cater to your needs, keeping you on track and reducing forgetfulness. 3. **Establish Routines**: Developing a daily routine can provide structure and predictability. This can significantly help manage time and responsibilities. 4. **Visual Aids**: Consider using color-coded labels or sticky notes to mark important areas or items. Visual cues can aid memory retention and organization. 5. **Mindfulness Practices**: Techniques like mindfulness meditation can assist in enhancing focus and attention, making it easier to stay organized. 6. **Limit Distractions**: Minimize clutter around you. A tidy workspace tends to promote better concentration. By adopting these practices, you can create a more organized environment that accommodates your unique needs as an ADHDer, helping you thrive in everyday tasks.
