Dopamining doesn’t have to be expensive

A lot of times, ADHDers associate dopamine with buying new stuff. And let’s be real: that’s a thing. If I walk into The Rack and leave with a cartful of new stuff, I feel pretty good. But there’s ways to get this feeling without spending a ton of money.

This week, I went to Spirit Halloween. I thought I was going to be depressed not buying all the new and fancy decorations, but instead, I had a lot of fun with my kids and partner. We tested all the interactive decorations out, and got some ideas for DIY crafts at home.

Later that week, my daughter and I carved pumpkins. We had old carving tools around already, and instead of buying a new carving book, we made our own houses with what our backyard had to offer. It was so much fun!
