How clothing effects me as an autistic girly

Honestly, I only leave my house a couple of times each week, and when I do, I like to look cute. But looking cute can also be comfy, which is something I require as an autistic ADHDer.

My rules? NO scratchy tags, no jeans and no heels. I did that for a long time and all I got was grouchy and overstimulated.

Are clothes a sensory issue for you?

Clothing such as soft fabrics that are tagless can ensure a more pleasant experience when dressing. Many people find that certain styles or types of clothing, like stretchy materials, can prevent discomfort and overstimulation, especially for those diagnosed with ADHD and autism. They may prefer wearing similar styles with various colors and patterns to minimize decision fatigue and sensory overload. Additionally, layering can be a great way to create a customizable outfit that meets one's sensory needs. Start with a base layer that is soft against the skin, add comfortable and breathable pieces on top, and finish with accessories that are visually pleasing yet not distracting. Ultimately, embracing your personal style while prioritizing comfort is key to feeling good in your skin and navigating any social situations with ease.
