Plant Diaries | My Aloe Vera Plant Shedded its Stems for Good 🌱
So recently my Aloe Very plant suffered from extreme temperature shock and a few other variables mixed together.
I’ve had this plant for almost a year and though I’m sad that I won’t be taking care of it any longer, I’m happy about the growth it’s had and how well I was able to take care of it. It was my first plant and I kept it healthy for a long time, so that’s a win in my book!
📒 Now, to prevent anything like this from happening again, I’ve downloaded a plant app called “Planta,” which does helpful reminders and plant diagnosis.

Taking care of plants can be a rewarding but sometimes challenging experience, especially for first-timers like me. When my Aloe Vera plant started shedding its stems, I realized how sensitive these plants can be to environmental changes. Extreme temperature shocks, such as sudden cold drafts or heat waves, can stress Aloe Vera, causing it to drop stems as a survival response. To prevent this, I began paying closer attention to where I place my plant, avoiding windows or areas with fluctuating temperatures. One major help in maintaining my plant’s health has been using a plant care app called Planta. This app offers personalized reminders for watering, fertilizing, and repotting schedules, which makes it easier to keep track without forgetting any key steps. The diagnosis feature also helps identify symptoms early, allowing timely interventions to save the plant from further distress. From my experience, it’s essential to balance adequate sunlight with protection from harsh direct rays, as Aloe Vera prefers bright but indirect light. Regularly checking the soil moisture and adjusting watering frequency based on the season also helped prevent overwatering or drought stress. Sharing this story, I encourage other plant enthusiasts to embrace the learning process that comes with plant parenting, as each challenge offers new insights. If your plant faces similar issues, consider environmental factors first and use helpful technology like care apps to guide your routine. Remember, even if a stem or leaf is lost, it’s not the end—your plant can bounce back stronger with proper care and attention.

After they callous over put them right in water to propagate them for another plant ☺️
