Looking forward to my August layovers ☺️💘
Having a seniority of 4.5 years as a flight attendant really changes how you experience layovers. With more time in the industry, you begin to understand the best strategies for maximizing your rest and adventure during those in-between hours. For instance, knowing which hotels offer the best amenities close to the airport can make a huge difference in how refreshed you feel before your next flight. Also, the BUOH (Bid Up or Hold) status often affects scheduling, meaning you might have opportunities for more favorable layover destinations. In my own experience, this has allowed me to plan short excursions or even enjoy local cuisine that I wouldn't have had the chance to savor otherwise. Moreover, August layovers can be particularly rewarding due to the pleasant weather in many locations and the chance to attend local events or explore the city without the heavier tourist crowds of peak season. I often use this time to recharge and immerse myself in cultures that are completely different from home. Sharing tips: Always check for any travel restrictions or requirements ahead of time, carry a portable charger, and keep light entertainment handy for downtime during long layovers. These small preparations can enhance your overall experience and make every layover worth looking forward to.
