Matthew 1 :21

2025/2/24 Edited to

... Read moreAs I sat down with my Bible open to Matthew chapter 1, ready for another session of #biblejournaling, I found myself drawn particularly to verse 21. You know the one: “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” This verse, seemingly simple, holds so much profound meaning, especially when you consider it in the context of the entire genealogy that precedes it. My journaling process always starts with truly soaking in the words. I highlighted the key phrases, especially 'you shall call HIS name Jesus,' just like you see in my image with the beautiful handwritten calligraphy. It’s not just a name; it’s a divine instruction, a prophecy, and a promise all rolled into one. The name ‘Jesus’ (Yeshua in Hebrew) literally means ‘The Lord saves,’ perfectly encapsulating His entire mission. As I reflected on this, I couldn't help but think about the question many ask: what is His name and what is the name of His son bible verse? Matthew 1:21 directly answers that, giving both the name and the reason behind it. But to truly appreciate verse 21, I realized I needed to understand the genealogy that Matthew lays out right from the start. Honestly, sometimes I used to skim over the lists of names in the Bible, but this time, I decided to dig deeper. Why is this long list of ancestors so crucial? The 'genealogy of Jesus Matthew 1' isn't just a historical record; it's God's unwavering faithfulness woven through generations. It shows Jesus’ legitimate claim to the throne of David and His connection to Abraham, fulfilling ancient prophecies. Each name, from Abraham to David, and through many others, represents a step in God's plan to bring the Messiah into the world. It’s a testament to how God works through imperfect people and circumstances to achieve His perfect will. It gave me goosebumps realizing that every single person in that lineage was a part of preparing the way for Jesus to be born, to be named Jesus, and to save us. As I continued my journaling, adding notes around the highlighted text and my handwritten calligraphy, I considered the significance of the phrase 'genealogy of Jesus Matthew 1 manuscript.' It speaks to the authenticity and historical grounding of Jesus' story. It’s not just a myth; it’s a meticulously recorded lineage, affirming His identity as the promised Savior. My Bible tabs for various books, visible along the edge, serve as a constant reminder of how all scripture points to Him. This deep dive into Matthew 1:21 and the surrounding genealogy truly transformed my understanding and appreciation for the meticulous way God orchestrated salvation for us all.
