Eating my food

... Read moreFrom my experience with cats, I've noticed they have a strong curiosity about human food. It’s quite common for cats to try and eat from our plates, not just because they’re hungry, but also because they are attracted to the smells and the opportunity to bond with their humans. Cats are natural hunters, and the scent of cooked or seasoned food is often irresistible. Many cat owners find this behavior endearing but sometimes problematic, especially if the food is harmful to cats. For example, some ingredients like onions, garlic, or chocolate should never be consumed by cats. Over time, I've learned it's important to keep mealtimes structured, offering cats their own meals at regular times. Engaging with cats during feeding can also help reduce their urge to steal food. Sometimes, a small safe treat appropriately timed can satisfy their curiosity and hunger. Also, providing plenty of enrichment like toys and playtime keeps their minds off our food. Understanding this behavior helps improve the bond between cats and their owners while ensuring the cats stay healthy. Patience and consistency are key since cats are quite persistent when it comes to their favorite human snacks.

You can't blame her. She thought it was for her since the container looks like a cat dish. Whatever it is, she's really enjoying it.
