Postpartum Recovery/Weightloss
Let me tell you about this very simple thing I’ve been doing the past few weeks and how it’s been quite literally changing my life🥹
Every morning after I drop off the older kids at school I go straight to a nearby park to walk for at least a mile and hit the playground if my 2yo is up for it. We’re in Florida so early morning or later in the evening is a must so it’s not unbearably hot.
Postpartum was really hard for me this time around so initially I started walking just to get out of the house and try to get some steps in and it’s been honestly amazing. My two year old has grown to love and thrive on her morning outdoor time. She had completely stopped napping months ago and was very restless and hyper at home which only exasperated my declining mood daily. We’ve found such a great rhythm now though after incorporating a simple daily walk and even my 3mo enjoys it 🥹 Florida
Postpartum recovery can be a challenging time for many mothers, both physically and mentally. Walking is a low-impact exercise that not only aids in weight loss but also improves mood and overall well-being. Engaging in a simple daily walk routine helps new moms regain strength and can significantly increase motivation and energy levels. Incorporating outdoor activities with children can serve as a wonderful bonding time while promoting healthier lifestyles for the whole family. For moms dealing with anxiety or postpartum depression, fresh air and physical activity are essential. Walking outdoors, particularly in pleasant environments like parks in Florida, can enhance the experience, making it enjoyable for both parent and child. Establishing a consistent routine is key; aim for morning walks after getting older kids ready for school. Not only does this help you achieve daily movement goals, but it also encourages children to enjoy outdoor play, stimulating their mood and energy levels. The benefits are multifaceted—exercising regularly, especially in early morning, can lead to improved sleep patterns, better overall health, and a positive mindset for tackling daily challenges of motherhood. Regular walks have the potential to establish a healthier routine for both you and your baby, leading to overall happiness for the family. By prioritizing daily walking, new mothers can reclaim their fitness while nurturing the well-being of their little ones.
