Hey everyone! I'm so thrilled you're checking out my latest digital art piece, where I've mashed up two of my absolute favorite worlds: Gravity Falls and *The Telltale Walking Dead*. As someone who's spent countless hours exploring the mysteries of Gravity Falls and making tough choices in the TWD games, the idea of seeing these beloved characters face a zombie apocalypse just sparked something in me! When I started sketching, I immediately envisioned Grunkle Stan in full protective mode. You know, that gruff exterior with a heart of gold? That's exactly what I aimed for. Picturing him, gun in hand, shielding Mabel and telling her, 'Stay Close Sweetie..,' felt so right. He's always been about family, and in a world overrun by walkers, that instinct would be amplified tenfold. Mabel, with her bright spirit, would bring a much-needed splash of color and optimism, even amidst the grim reality. And then there's Dipper. Oh, poor Dipper! He’s the brains, the planner, but also the one who gets genuinely scared when things get truly terrifying. I wanted to capture that raw emotion, that vulnerability. Imagining Grunkle Stan, perhaps a bit injured but still pushing forward, guiding a trembling Dipper through a horde, whispering, 'Stay calm Dipper... We're almost out of the horde... Just Keep Walking... Grunkle Stan-,' really brought the scene to life for me. It’s about that bond, that unspoken trust, even when fear is palpable. It makes you wonder how the entire Pines family, maybe even Ford, would adapt to such a harsh new reality. Speaking of other characters, I've seen a lot of fan discussions about different Gravity Falls pairings and scenarios. While this particular piece focuses on the core family in a zombie setting, it makes me think about how other characters, like Pacifica Northwest, might fare. Would she be a resourceful survivor, or would her privileged background be a hindrance? It’s fun to imagine how Dipper's analytical mind and Pacifica's street smarts (which she definitely developed throughout the show!) could combine in a post-apocalyptic world. Maybe in a future piece by an artist like 'sammyd-productions' or even by me, we could explore those dynamics! For now, I just loved bringing this intense, emotional Grunkle Stan and scared Dipper moment to life.
